“While all engineers should have strong communication skills, global engineers face additional challenges, making effective communication essential.”
Based on this quote, Priya and I believe that engineers must possess strong communication skills to effectively convey technical ideas, collaborate with teams, and engage with stakeholders. Global engineers, in particular, operate in multicultural and international contexts, where they encounter challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences, and varying professional norms. Moreover, engineers are shaped by the unique external and internal conditions of their respective countries, including diverse education systems and industrial practices. These differences can create gaps when collaborating on global projects.
While effective communication is a fundamental skill for all engineers, it becomes even more critical for global engineers. They must overcome linguistic and cultural barriers while aligning their approaches to achieve seamless collaboration. For global engineers, effective communication is not just advantageous—it is indispensable for navigating diverse work environments and fostering successful teamwork.
